Can't run Grim GFX mod

Post by Dub »

Hi everyone,
Been a fan of warzone for a longtime, a mate and I wanted to fire up a game for ol times sake and we would like to use the hot graphics from the Grim mod.

I can play the grim mod on my desktop (my desktop is 5 years old) but I can't run it on my Laptop (lappy is new Core2Duo with GeForce8600M GT). When I attempt to run it on my laptop I can see the intro screen (picture of aerial transport, tank building in factory, factory picture etc.) for about 1 second and then warzone closes itself with no error message whatsoever. I can run normal warzone on the laptop fine, just not with the grim mod.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

I have the exact same problem. when i run warzone with a shortcut with "--mod grim.wz" on the end, it CTDs after about a second of the inital loading background.

I am not given the option of a minidump, but if there's any other outputs I don't know about...?

It happened originally when I was using 2.0.6, but it still occurs now with 2.0.8 RC 1.

I'm running Windoze XP SP2 GeForce 2 MX, AMD Athlon XP2500...256MB RAM.
I run warzone at 1280x1024, with no shadows (my game runs too slowly with them).

Same Problem here.
As soon as I add "--mod grim.wz" to the command line, the game ends a second after start.

Does this one help?
Replace the existing mods/global/grim.wz with it.

Yeahhh! Now running fine! This mod file has only the half of the size of the file distributed with install pack 2.0.8. And it works... :-)

Thank you!!
a happy gypakk

2.0.1?  That is ancient.

Uninstall all previous versions of warzone, or install to a new directory.
Install the new beta 2.1, and try the mod again, it should work.
and it ends here.

There never was a 2.0.1 version...
