Warzone 2100 Remastered
Hi, I'm Indigo. I have been playing this game with my friends for a long time and this has to be the most fun I have ever had in cooperative gameplay even when compared to a lot more recent multiplayer games I constantly play like BF4 and TF2. While this game has been remade I feel that if this game was made from scratch with a new and popularly used engine that this game could reach its full potential. I have loved videogames my whole life. While I am only 16 I want to open up my own Company and give back to the gaming community as much or even more than it has given me. I want to kick this game up to current standards and take advantage of what is possible. I have everything I need to make this a reality including Unreal engine 4, Zbrush, and Autodesk 3DS Max. Of course I want to make money on the game I will pour my blood, sweat and Tears into. I do want to make it discounted or free to die hard fans of the game. I want to know the legal parameters of this project. Is it legal for me to even do this even if I am not using the source code, or graphics. Just the Idea. I would love to keep the name because it is undeniably awesome. Also if I am able to take on this project I would love as much help as I can get. Mostly suggestions. I really feel that the game is unbalanced in blaring areas, especially ripple rockets and most artillery. Although I want to stay true to the original game. I am in no way looking towards completely changing the entire meaning of the game. I might just make the game for me and my friends if it is not allowed, or illegal to do so. If I can't make money on it I will still attempt to release it as freeware. Thank you Warzone community.

Code: Select all
Is it legal for me to even do this even if I am not using the source code, or graphics. As long as you are not using code or artwork from Warzone2100, you can do pretty much what you want. The idea of the game itself is not copyrighted.

Re: Warzone 2100 Remastered
So yeah, you can't use the code, the name or the artwork (unless you make it open source) but you can make a game that plays almost exactly the same, a clone if you wish.
