How to convert old .wdg mods into the .wz format?
This is about my 8th question since I've joined but how do I convert an old .wdg mod into a .wz mod? I use WDG Explorer and I already have the files extracted. Where do I put them and what do I name them?
Re: How to convert old .wdg mods into the .wz format?
I think the mod should be completely recreated...

??? But where do the pie files and stuff go? I also assume that they need to be named something other than "$7F80D45.pie"

That is the hash name. You could try to see if the other program can decypher that name for you. Here is a link to the ML with the stuff you need:TonyTheSlayer wrote: ??? But where do the pie files and stuff go? I also assume that they need to be named something other than "$7F80D45.pie"

If that does the same thing, then you have to figure out what it is yourself. Perhaps open it up in pie slicer/toaster, and see what it is. Then find the correct name of it from the other files.
If it is custom, then you need to create a .wrf file telling the game to load that file. (You can see examples of .wrf in the .wz files)
Even then, if it is a custom mod, then your going to have a heck of a time trying to do this. It can be done, but it is allot of work.
You just basically have to get the directory structure the same, (look at other mods posted on here) and you can replace one file at a time. The names must match the original game's names if they are meant to be replacement (overrides), and if not, those are custom, which require lots of fiddling.
and it ends here.

as far as i know - the documents project may be able to still be of some use... or have all the items been changed...

"to prepare for disaster is to invite it, to not prepare for disaster is a fools choice" -me (kim-lav_coyote25-metcalfe) - it used to be attributed to unknown - but adding the last bit , it now makes sense.
