Doesn't break any rules that I'm aware of - feel free to copy and reproduce any of that content. There's a PDF export option in the tools menu (I think you need to be logged in to see it) if that helps?

One problem though is that then we'll have two copies of the same content that are out of synch with each other...

I don't see the point of attaching the other wiki's content as pdf here. Adding some cross-references between the wikis might be helpful though.

The notion that "if it has a crash all is lost" is completely inaccurate and misleading.

The wiki is hosted by Atlassian, the company that makes the Confluence wiki, on fully managed, fully supported dedicated server farms. There's about as much chance of data loss on Atlassian's system as there is with stuff hosted on github - while there may be outages on either service, data loss is practically inconceivable in both cases.

Also, the service is provided free of charge due to WZ being an open source project - even if I die, the project admins of this site could contact Atlassian and gain full admin access to the wiki and all data stored on it. I thought carefully about these things before starting the wiki.

I've tried both the trac wiki on wz2100.net and the markdown wiki on github, and about 50 other wiki technologies (I used to be a CEO of a company that did wiki services hence needing to know what was out there) - all have strengths and weaknesses, but ultimately I personally find the Confluence wiki significantly more productive when it comes to content authoring, etc.

If github wiki gets as productive as Confluence, which ultimately I think it will one day, it will be the best wiki due to the ability to fork it, etc., but until that happens I'm sticking with Confluence.
