Delay Reaction / Response Time

I recently reformatted my hard drive and am in the process of reinstalling programs. I have been playing warzone 2100 for quite a while and had the previous version installed. My problem is that since I have reinstalled the new version 3.1.0 I seem to be getting what I would call a delayed reaction or poor response with my mouse. In the past this happened when I created 2 or 3 hundred clones and the game would drag until you got back down to 100 or so. Any ideas?

Do you have current drivers for your hardware installed?

P.S.: glxinfo or dxdiag output might help in finding out how current your drivers are.

Philipp:Thanks for your response. I added a new samsung monitor and downloaded the most current version of the driver (albeit from 8/2007). While the video replay in the game is choppy, video / movies / streaming, etc are normal for my other programs. I recovered the version of the game I was running previously (2.3.9) and find that I have the same problem.

Monitor drivers are rarely an issue. Old graphics card and soundcard drivers tend to be more problematic.

Philipp - THANKS! That was the problem. There was a recent update (Jan 2013) to my NVIDIA GeForce GPU that needed to be installed. Once it was updated the game performs just fine!
