Game Saves

Post by jeadre »

In the load game section I have enough slots to save 20 games.  I have long since used them all, and just save over a previous save.  What I have recently discovered is that if I save a game and label it out of sequence with whats on the list, it will disappear and be replaced with a game that I thought I had written over. I then realized that all my saves were still on my computer.  So how do I access the saves that do not appear on the load game list?

i think you should remove enough savegames of those you dont need in documents\warzone 2100, to make savegames you cant see visible again.

Could be a good idea for improvement in future versions.

I imagine the files aren't too large so why not include a "find" feature or a scroll menu?  :)
The only thing worse than getting owned by WZ2100's AI is being told that it is easy to beat.

yea, that'l work, thanks.
And yes, a scroll menu that could fit as much as my hard drive could handle would be a nice improvement.  ;D

Oh sure, that would be nice.

The problem is the GUI code itself isn't very nice.

You can rename the current savegame directory to something else, then make a new savegame directory, and you got 20 more saves.

The other way it to use multiple configdirs, and then you can pick which savegame 'set' you want.

The format for that is --configdir c:\wzconfig1 (or whatever you want to name it)  **the directory MUST exsist beforehand though!**

Come to think of it, this is also only available on the trunk version of the game.
and it ends here.

I think the save/load menu should be recreated from scratch. It really isnt good, and maybe a newer and maybe more modern-looking GUI would be better....

Whats this about?

Sure, it would be better, but until someone steps up to the plate with said changes, it isn't going to happen soon.

Trunk = latest version of wz available, the one where are the new features/bug fixes are applied to.
You can get that from the svn, and compile it yourself.
and it ends here.
