Personally, I've been using this picture of a beautiful sunset that came with my old Gateway PC for, oh, 8 years or so.

I've been using this one since developing a laminate flooring fetish some 10 years ago:

The laminate is vertically mirrored in two places, totally unrealistic :geek:

Windows 8 wallpaper on slideshow (about 700 images).

Linux wallpaper also on slideshow (the same 700-ish images) via Gnome-Shell and this extension.

@Jorzi - yes, but it's not as obvious when stretched across a 42" monitor ;) My smaller monitor has a similar backdrop:

@aubergine: just kidding, I just can't help that I notice mirrored/tiled textures everywhere ;)

Here's my desktop on my Fedora partition. I have a homebrew distro called SubLinux that uses XFCE and a GNU/Busybox userland that has a partition that's icon is visible in the screenshot, but the desktop under SubLinux is nearly identical to the Fedora system. I like a cohesive experience across all my devices.

That src.pro file visible in task bar contains QtCreator project for whole WZ source (done by I-NoD), waiting to be converted to CMake (at that point already for 10 months), still waiting for light of day. ;-)
