Shall we be scared? Only formal style?

Other talk that doesn't fit elsewhere.

The first paragraph should be obvious Sir.

The second issue, mentioned by NoQ too, is very important too. If it do not overuse I dont know the server, moderators, or anything I have no idea about.. then why not put all our crap into one ditch and here we bla bla bla again.

A litle side way, from obvious idea of the forum is a sort of openminded vacation, feelings relief.

Maybe mero want to talk about picking his nose, and I want to talk about a science article I've read or somebody else about the crazy weather in his town or the trip he is planning to nowhere.
Sharing these things here is not because people lives the game, but because they love and trust the community! Don't disallow it..
The problem is that some of us really don't like spending our time wading through so many ... nice posts about other things ... when we just want to see if there are any new, posts relevant to Warzone to read. Yes, maybe some of us really do look upon this forum in a very utilitarian manner. But the thing is, some people want to communicate about Warzone here, and I worry that such discussions may be drowned out in sheer volume by discussions about all kinds of other, unrelated stuff.

I wonder if it would not be better to have an entirely different forum for off-topic discussions. Perhaps someone else would like to host that?

This could be, and it is something I wanted ro suggest. You made so many sub forums wirh the other categories that this one will be ok.
Just for example, in wesnoth they have a forum dedicated to games like corrupt a wish.
Imagine, a forum just for mero! :-)

Unfortunately, partly due to the way the software works, with lack of proper topic filters, and partly because we as moderators have to skim over everything to check that things do not get out of hand, just adding an off-topic subforum is not the answer here.

Some Javascript for Greasemonkey should be able to filter out e.g. all Lounge topics.

Warzone 2100 is a place and means to have fun. You devs aren't getting payed to make it, yet you do it. You have no reason to censor it and no reason at all to censor posts because they're off topic. If you don't like a thread in WIBBLE, (yes, it's Wibble to me) then don't read it. Don't ruin the fun for everyone else because you like perfect order. If someone posts something offensive, sure, delete it, but don't censor the fun. I like order and structure too, but as Captain Jean Luc Picard once said, "There can be no justice so long as laws are absolute."

Re-evaluate what you are trying to do please.

Very fair point according to me, you have made bendib, and perfectly suited.

I simply entirely agree with you.

wasnt there a site where we could go chat? i found it once, it was full of people from Warzone, and it was a very basic chat site. if i had the link ide share it, but im still looking for it again. if anyone remembers the link or knows wut im talking about, please share it?

and if it were real i think it could be used for the "off topic" stuff that the mods are complaining about. i dont think the moderate the chat anyways, some one else does, right? anyways, i think it would solve many problems, at least some people would be able to chat, and then there are the PM systems built into this forum. dont forget about that, too.

Gag me with an ethernet cable. I'll ask this. And I want a developer to answer. What purpose does a game usually serve? Hmm?

(hint, not productivity or business)

Doesn't look like a dev is gonna take a crack at answering the question so I will yield to temptation. ;)

A game is a constructed pretext for a special kind of fun derived from creatively overcoming unnecessary obstacles.

In this I have taken my lead from one Bernard Suits, a philosopher who holds a singular place in the understanding of games with his masterwork on the subject - "The Grasshopper" (1978) In part, a refutation of Wittgenstein's famous claim that games were indefinable because there were no common threads to link them all. Bernard's concise response was: "Nonsense."
