Cartoon tileset experiment
I had this idea of creating a cartoon-looking map tileset with solid colors and black edge outlines. This could possibly be extended to the models as well, allowing a cleaner game experience where the low polycount and simple shading can actually be part of the style.
I think the simplified modeling and texturing workflow of a cartoon style would also encourage more community participation in mod creation.

Some ground textures. Not a huge fan of the pebbles, but the concrete came out pretty good imo

I like the idea very very much. It reminds me of Borderlands game style. And I think such environment would be well accepted among players. The examples you have provided look perfect.
Once again, very very nice.

This looks like fun! And doesn't require exotic shaders.

Do you like to draw stuff? Feel free to contribute
I can help out with making textures seamless if you find it problematic
You can draw whatever you like, either redraw some existing stuff or make up your own.
Exisiting stuff can be found in base.wz/texpages/
Same goes for everyone else of course

In any case game has cartoon style. It is not looking like real.Jorzi wrote:I had this idea of creating a cartoon-looking map tileset with solid colors and black edge outlines. You style is good. I like it.

Re: Cartoon tileset experiment
Indeed Jorzi, your seem to exactly fit the cartoon style.
felipe what are those lines next to oil derrick? They seem (according to me) somehow not to fit the rest.
