Final Mission

Post by sammyd »

After landing two transporters it fails to leave the area, preferring to circle my new base and totally p*** me off. Any help appreciated

maybe try it with the speed setting at normal... or plus or minus one step.
aperently there used to be a bug in the vtol & transport turn rate that led them to circle endlessly at speeds other then 1.0(normal)

but since it taking off... i dont know.

I've had this problem as well, but the above advice does work.

To slow the game  (whilst playing), hold Ctrl & - or + depending which way you want to go.

Slowing down: At the top of the screen you'll get a line that says 'game speed 0.5', repeat again and it'll say 0.3. I've found that this is the level you need to get the transport to leave. Incidentally, if you've noticed that some VTOLs just endlessly circle after a bombing run, you'll now see that they come in to land.

Once the transport has left, it only takes 20secs or so depending where the transport is, speed the game back to norm by repeating, Ctrl & + twice.

Unfortunately you will need to do this rather a lot during the game, either to bring in reinforcements or to get your VTOLs to land, bizarrely enough the VTOL problem only seems to occur if you upgrade your VTOL body to the Vengence chassis.

Apparently this whole problem is caused by having a fast PC, ie anything that was manufactured after about 2002  :o, as the processor runs too fast for the game code.

Hope this gets you going in the last mission.
