Extended hiatus to Universe 2

Hello friends, enemies, neutral, talking heads of lettuce, T-100 Terminators with ethernet jacks, and sentient moldy sandwiches, and any other oddity I missed. I am writing to tell you all that I am going to be gone, for the most part, from the warzone community, for possibly an extended period of time. I may still pop into IRC often enough, but I am not only busy with real life, but my interest in computing is dominant over my interest in warzone. My interest in warzone has diminished. I am going to be blunt. I will continue to develop legacy when I can and still welcome developers, but nobody plays Legacy at the moment. Moreover, I do not enjoy playing this site's version of the game at present. The developers seem to have either a distorted philosophy of ends-justifies-the-means or they disregard the welfare of others, or (not nearly as bad) they do not fix even the most elementary bugs because it requires a bit of effort and instead include trivial new features. The disruptive and unsettling realization of the state of this project and it's developers makes me reluctant to even use the code produced. I love Warzone 2100, and while I do see progress in development of the game itself, the community is a concern for me. I see a problem brewing with control/power issues. (Sometimes it's not the result that matters (cypescites a certain someone) This is a storm I wish to hide from. I'd provide umbrellas, but every time I try, someone turns it inside out, it fills with water, and then dumps on me. (Get the picture?)

Have fun and don't stop developing Legacy. Regardless of the issues here, elsewhere, or in another dimension, WZ needs fresh ideas and blood (sacrificed or not) to continue its journey into the ether. Maybe at some point over the next year or so this project, Legacy, or Redemption can fulfill the dreams of its former creators.

Good luck out there. I just got back from a hiatus from this site, though it's too early for me to say whether or not I've gotten back from a hiatus from the Warzone 2100 game itself.

Sorry you have decided to pull out. Some of us console ourselves with 2.3.9 and chip away at the devs in the hope that good sense will ultimately prevail...
