Saving game between missions
By which I mean the campaign's "Objective Accomplished" screen should have an option to save your game right then and there, before it actually progresses to the next mission. Currently you can only ever save your game "mid mission" - i.e. by hitting Escape and selecting "Save Game" from the Pause menu.

Yeah, had to disable that, since it wasn't working correctly.
Not all the states were saved, so as a temp fix, you can only save at the start of the next mission.

Re: Saving game between missions
Staff, it's more useful to have two a bit buggy campaign transitions (also, these issues are not new, they are there at least since 2.2.x or 2.3.x) from which only one is really nasty (no power bug, but easy to avoid, also possible to continue without permanent losses
) and latter one is random lack of textures, than having no option to save in a way that you won't miss briefings after loading such save etc. (which will happen when you need to save it when next mission starts)...
Or there are other issues, that I've never seen?
BTW, we should also disable saving in last mission then, because saving after some (probably still unknown) event and reloading leads to even worse issue, inability to finish game.
Seriously, give at least temporary switch for now so it would be at least possible to use this feature at own risk.

Re: Saving game between missions
You can play the mission vids at any time you want, just hit the intel screen, and click on the mission objectives.
All mission transitions are potentially bugged, and worse, it occurs randomly. I dunno about you, but trying to debug these things is very time consuming, and we are all running low on that.
Since we know there are bugs, and nobody around to fix them, (or are you volunteering to do so Emdek ?) it doesn't do us any good to have lots of trac issues with broken levels, that people can't finish.
It was the least painful option to do IMO.

Re: Saving game between missions
Well, some of the asserts that pop up while playing a game definitely indicate bugs under the surface ... but it has me thinking that in just about any RTS with discrete levels/missions (e.g. non persistent player bases/forces) -- not that I play many RTS's, mind you -- don't you generally have a between-mission save anyway?
Also, not all cutscenes can be re-played when you load a game. For example, I'm pretty sure that after defeating the New Paradigm, the call for help you get from Beta Base isn't shown on your Intelligence screen.

Re: Saving game between missions
vexed, sure, it's buggy, but those who play campaign know that and at least for me it's not critical (while not having ability to save after mission is very painful - enough painful so I gave up with campaign testing after it was introduced...) and can be avoided. Also I've not seen any other bugs (any ticket numbers with related issues to reproduce?), except campaign transitions and last mission issue.
This is why I'm suggesting adding ability to enable it for those who can live with those small annoyances. Be it command line switch or compile time flag, without need to constantly path sources to get it back.
