Entries of the configuration file

Post by zerosum »

I've been searching for the available entries of WZ config file and found this (the spoiler is meant to spare the readers with repetitive uses of mouse wheels, and the values are omitted because the keys are mostly what I'm interested with):
Spoiler:
First, is this accurate / complete? If not, I stand to be corrected.

Second, is there any available entry to allow the setup of default settings for the factories? If the first answer was "yes", I'll assume the second one will be "no", but I want to be sure.

To finish, why there are no entries for user's key bindings? It would have been quite logical to put them here, instead of a binary file. Just curious.

No.

I would indeed welcome a change of key bindings to a non-binary format.

I did some docu of the config file a while back if that's any use:

https://warzone.atlassian.net/wiki/display/mod/config

I tired to work out which items were working in current releases, which menus allowed setting of item, etc. I'm not sure if I managed to list all possible properties, but the list is fairly extensive.

That figures.

So am I. As far as I understand, a configuration file is meant to store user-specific settings for a program and since the key bindings are user-specific, well... The use of a binary file for that matter is rather puzzling for me.

Hell yeah. And your site is a goldmine for many other infos either. Thank you very much for the headsup, I didn't know such site existed, and it answered a fair amount of questions I didn't even think about yet. :good:

And also pretty well organized (much like the rest). Kudos for you.
