just quickly: is there a list of mod's anywhere? (especially interested in texture mods).
If not, should we not create one in the showcase until addons is ready?

I'm not aware of any such list, apart from the addons.

For texture mods, check out the Art Revolution project first of all.
Check out the modeller threads in Artwork forum, sometimes they contain some textures; also terrain texutres, some sky textures.

I'm not the right guy to reply though; i think there must be more.
