WZ won't run at all

Post by robdollar »

Trying to run WZ on this system:
WinXP SP2, P4 2.8Ghz, Nvidia 7600GS.
Latests Nvidia drivers and Directx installed.

The game simply won't run. All resolutions tried, the game will not run at all. Doesn't even flash up a menu, seemingly no respose from it at all. Tried installing a couple of times also.

Anyone had a similar problem / knows a fix etc, greatly appreciated. :)

Strange.
Which version you trying to run?
Make a shortcut, or open a command window (cmd.exe) and type warzone --debug all after you cd to the warzone directory.

Then copy & paste the stderr.txt file here.
and it ends here.

Thx for the reply, the debug was coming up with resolution not supported, so tried a lower one, now it works sporadically. Blatantly a problem with my drivers etc, a reinstall of windows never does any harm  ;D

To my experience it fails to do much good as well. Well sure it does on the short term, though on the long term, say a month or three you tend to be back to square one with problems....

yeah... to keep windows at optimal gaming performance, it got to the point where it had to reinstall it at least every two weeks.  but it got (relatively) painless when i passed it through the meatgrinder using nlite (nliteos.com), after which, i put in the newly made install disk, and walk away for 20 minutes. upon my return, i would have most of my drivers installed, a few regularly used apps, etc.

only issue is that microsoft only slightly knows what userspace automation is, and people who write commercial installer software for that os either haven't heard of the concept, or implemented a method that's unusable.
