The person who would be most opposed to this smilie extermination would be Mero, even though it is him who has made everyone hate smiles.
One way to do this would be to ban smilies entirely and this would please me, but there are still some who like to use smilies.
Instead, put the fate of smilies in the hands of the one who most values them, Merowing, but if he should EVER use a smilie in this forum again, then smilies will be wiped out and banned FOREVER. Which I would say is as fair as fair is going to get.
Sounds like dictatorship...
There is an option for disabling smilies.

Let a = number of letters in Merowingg's post, and b = number of smilies in Merowingg's post.
Another way of putting the fate of smilies in the hands of the one who most values whem, without actually preventing that one from using smilies is that if Merowingg EVER does a post where (a + bi) isn't a Gaussian prime, then smilies will be wiped out and banned FOREVER.

Have there been any recent changes to signatures? Just today when I attempted to change my sig, I received a message stating that font size 85 could not be used as sigs were restricted to font size 75, which is almost unreadable. Yet when I removed the size brackets, the sig became larger.
P.S. I have to say I disagree with Berg on removing smilies.

Value = # of original lines / ( # of signature lines + ( 5 * # of smilies))
This gives us a single real number. The closer it is to 0.0, the more useless your post.

That made me laugh. Thanks guys, I need to laugh more at the moment.

I fully realise my input is just another drop in the proverbial bucket. It is my goal to make each drop count.
Yaaa yaaa? eh!? which one of ya! come closer come closer eh?!
Seriously make a table of my usage of smileys in my mapmaking thread, so we could see how much I have decreased the amount of them.. the NTW Clown is to be oversmiled as a clown in his nature is to be..
It is nice to make a stereotype about someone but how is it now with time?

Sorry Merowingg, (259 + 9i) is not a Gaussian prime, since the Gaussian prime factors of (259 + 9i) are (1 + i) and (134 - 125i). Smilies will now be removed FOREVER!!! The only hope for smilies is if Merowingg immediately repents, and does a post listing 3 large Gaussian primes.
That's 50 characters, can be factorised into (1 + i)² (2 + i)² (2 - i)², so still not a Gaussan prime. If you had inserted exactly 7, 11, 17 or 19 smilies, you would have saved them.
Sorry, but your post has 106 letters and 7 smilies, and (106 + 7i) can be factored into (2 - i) (6 - i) (6 + 5i), so you still haven't saved the smilies. If you had exactly 5, 9, 19 or 21 smilies, you would have saved them.
