First, thanks for the people who keep this game alive and advancing! I used to play the 2.3.9, and I was very happy with it. then I decided to try the 3.1 and found that the game crashes from time to time. Then I came here and found that my graphic card is in the black list. now I just try to get back to 2.3.9 which I played for quite some time and very smooth before I solve the hardware problem. Here comes the problem. I uninstalled 3.1 but the 2.3.9 doesn't work anymore. as soon as I start a game, after the video is played, the game crashes back to desktop. I don't understand. The same computer, which used to run well, can't roll back. then I uninstalled the 2.3.9 and deleted all the data from my documents folder, and Program Files (x86) folder. Then I reinstalled the 2.3.9. Problem remains the same. here is everything from the Warzone2100.RPT file, hope someone can tell me what went wrong. Thanks a lot.
Don't, but how long have those drivers been out and why wouldn't it update to the latest intel if its automatic? Hence my statement Either of us is correct or we both are, just bringing up this point that something else may have gone wrong. Let us hope thats its only a driver issue.
Window's updates aren't necessarily the newest driver though.
Sure, there are many other things that can go wrong, but 8 times out of 10, it is video driver related when the texture can't be loaded. The other times, it is bad RAM, heat issues, bad CPU, bad HD/SSD, and so on...
/facepalm ...Grinch stole Warzone contra principia negantem non est disputandum Super busy, don't expect a timely reply back.
Thanks for the reply. Problem solved. Today I reinstalled it in a different folder at c drive root, the 2.3.9 is working again. The wired thing was that I did delete the game program folder in the Program Files(x86) before, but it didn't work. Anyway, thanks for replying this.
To NoQ, I did try to use the scavenger mod on the old 2.3.9. But this is after it started crashing. I have installed it quite a few times then i decided to try something different. I hoped the mod will override the loading process, that was just a funny thought.
To vexed, I think my video card has its limit because the 3.1 won't run properly. I did try to update the driver but from either the manufacture and the seller's service website, it all shows that the program is uptodate. Then I found several topics on the internet says intel is working on something new for the current video card that better support OpenGL 2.0. I hope that it is true. But now, since the 2.3.9 is working smothly, I think there are something in the 3.1 can be crosschecked with the previous version to solve this. Just an opinion.
I tried to recreate the crash. I uninstalled my current running 2.3.9, reinstalled the 2.3.9 with default setting. then run the game and got the following in WZlog-0428_225609.txt:
start:
--- Starting log ---
info |10:56:13: [seq_Play] unable to open 'sequences/cam1/c001.ogg' for playback

end
There was no warzone2100.RPT file. As long as I use the default setting the game won't start. I then uninstalled it and reinstalled into the root folder same as the running version which in c:\Warzone 2100-2.3.9\ everying back to normal.
Hi NoQ, I went to Program Files(x86) and deleted the Warzone 2.3.9 folder. and I went to My Documents and delete the warzone2.3.9 folder. I backed up all the mod and maps then used search on my c: drive to find any thing related to warzone or wz and delete. The only thing I didn't touch is the registry, because I don't want to create problems. But I used registry cleaner in norton. and system clean up to delete the temporary files. If there are more things need to be done, I don't know. and that's what I want to know. Thank you.

... You already have opengl 2.0 support (actually 3.1 support,) see:
Thanks Safety0ff. That made me feel better. I have no idea why the 3.0 keeps crashing. I did all updates that I can find. I am not a pro. If I run into the problem again, I am not sure if I can get back to 2.3.9 again. That is why I stay with the older version.
Has your driver information changed from the above post? If so could you post it? We'd really need the log / .RPT files to see. Also make sure you try 3.1 betas and not 3.0.
