New guy needs help

Greetings guys
I used to play this game in PS1 many years before and i didnt know it was so popular (was bit young back then) i really want to start again and but i need some directions. I read some of the posts but they look alien to me. Pls help like where to DL the game and the patches and how to install them and stuff like

ok i managed to DLthe Warzone2100.exe from a crappy webpage and its working, its version is 2.0.0 but the game crushes when i finish the first mission on campaign or something skirmish with AI as enemy works fine (exept the fact that its too easy) is this the correct game? if it is where i get patches and how do i install them?

ok thx.. i downloaded both warzone2100-2.0.8_rc1 , warzone2100-2.0.8_rc1.update and warzone2100-2.0.8_rc1.tar what do i do now? (i am pretty much out of my water as far that kind of stuff and u guys seem experts) i installed both of them but when i start a campaign and click it closes like i pressed ALT F4 whats wrong? help pls

You only need the "Windows Installer", nothing else.
And from that description I can't say anything, sorry... Maybe it's a bug, known or not, maybe it's something else. Please get into more details...

Usually, on windows when that happens, it almost always is a gfx driver problem, or system files are corrupted and or memory issues.
List the hardware details you are using, and try different gfx drivers.  If it still does it, then download memtest from memtest86.com and let that run for a few hours, and hopefully you will have 0 errors.

Jeez i dont know that much from computers .. when i tried dl them from begin i tried to unistall them but it says it cant find warzone.exe to unistall any ideas?

Finally after some search i found it i am playing warzone now everything seems to work perfect now, could u tell me how i can join Multiplayer games with other players pls?

Enter multiplayer menu, and pick join game.

Make sure your firewall & router are not blocking warzone.

Well first off you need to find some people that your going to be playing with, or you could try playing on Gamespy if that still has the WZ2100 loby up, tho I am not totaly sure about that. I really dont know how many still play this on multiplayer, I know back in the day it was a blast and you had 2 kinds of people playing this, the ones that just played the Camp. and SP games, and then you had the multiplayers that went into the hundreds back in the old Mplayer days and then kind of died down once the game went to Gamespy.

Now IF you find someone that your going to play, you will need to join as either a host or player, then somewhere you will need to enter your IP or the host IP, its not that hard to do once you do it a few time but with Gamespy that takes all the BS out of the picture, all you need to do is go into a room and wait for someone to join and then Launch your game. Once I get back online fulltime I will look you up, but that wont be till after the new year, so that gives you a few weeks to learn the game )

warzone 2100 room is still up... and we still playing wz there.
we have a lot of fun  well u must get a good time for a 2v2, 3v3 or 4v4.
come in and wait with us for mp games (more players) ^^.
all are welcome but not all can play online... router or something else make probs.
