Heres something i need a little help with.
I am able to host on the laptop, running windows xp (router ports 2100 upd + tcp are open with no issues)
Desktop: running windows 7, Ive gone in and tried everything to host, something inside windows is blocking .
Not sure what to do besides add exception to firewall, make new rules in the toolbox, but still unsuccessful.
I even unistalled windows security.
No antivirus.
What am I missing????? The router is Good, but windows isnt???

Re: Windows 7(hosting problem) ROUTER IS FORWARDED
update: I cannot find a single thing in windows thats blocking warzone. If anybody has any ideas on how they got warzone to work in windows 7 please tell me the steps you had to go through, excluding the router setup ( which has been tested to work).
Maybe somebody can connect to me "remote desktop connection" and look for themselves what im missing?

Have you tried running Warzone 2100 in compatability mode? (It works fine for me on Windows XP without compatability mode.) I think that support doesn't yet exist for Windows 7 compatability, so you may have to run Warzone 2100 in compatability mode.
Oh, and uninstalling your antivirus software was a bad move, since you've just made your computer more vulnerable to viruses.

just went to whatismyip.com
173.51.161.**
Like i said before, I tested warzone on the laptop using the same connection here in the house. so the router is good to go

No, compatibility mode is NEVER needed.Shadow Wolf TJC wrote:Have you tried running Warzone 2100 in compatability mode? (It works fine for me on Windows XP without compatability mode.) It works fine with vista & win 7 both 32bit & 64bit.
If you don't have a software firewall on, then it most likely is the router, and the router rule only applies for the laptop, and not globally.

Re: Windows 7(hosting problem) ROUTER IS FORWARDED
PROBLEM SOLVED! * CLOSE THREAD*
My router ports were opened, the firewall was off, but the problem lied in which IP address the router assigned my computer eevery 24 hours it changes, so ill have to change it manually each day which is no problem.
thanks!
