I really adore the 2.3 textures and models that were inherited from the PSX version.
The new 3.1 graphics are interesting but they look a little too polished and not rough enough.
How do I use the 2.3 textures and models with the 3.1 version?

Re: Using old textures/meshes on new version
I do not think you can replace old models as the new 3.1 uses many new features like 10 teams and scavs the old version only had 8 teams so the textures for that dont work
Also all models now use different flags the double sided flag is no longer used so models with this flag will crash game.
I can go on for a lot longer as to why old will not fit into new..
Basically you are looking at old textures and models with just a team colour change but it is a change that you cant change back to old models.

I'm assuming there's a way to import or translate them somehow.

You should read what has been done to the models so you will better know the issues and then you wont have to assume.
I'll say it differently 'most models only have the team colour changed from 2.3 to 3.1'.Berg wrote:Basically you are looking at old textures and models with just a team colour change but it is a change that you cant change back to old models.
PS: some models have no changes and effects have very little change

Yikes...
Looks like I bit off more than I can chew right now.
I'll still study it though.
Mostly what I want to do is go back to the old 2.3 style landscapes and models. Also, having my base structures use forest green instead of red looks funny.

when starting a game click on the flag next to your name in the player list you can select a colour for your team.shentino wrote:Mostly what I want to do is go back to the old 2.3 style landscapes and models. Also, having my base structures use forest green instead of red looks funny.

You can also set your player colours in the game options screen, that was recently improved in recent betas as you can now choose different colour for campaign or skirmish.

Not quite what I'm after.
I want my units to be green, but my base structures to use the old red lettering they used to.
