New wheels

I've always disliked the wheels for heavy bodies (I don't like the ones for medium bodies either, I'm doing them next) so I decided to redo them, which do you like best? Old or new? Any suggested changes to the new ones? Edit: each end of the tyre is a...wait what on earth do you call a 16 sided shape?
Old ^ New ^

I prefer the new one, perhaps, you can also improve a bit better the wheels inside:

Did you mean as in 3d or adding detail to the tyres? Because they're already 3d (and I'm working on the tyres as we speak)

Adding Details for it, cause they looks like a slick tire, just those ones used by race cars, and slick tires are bad in off-road terrain (Mud, grass, sand, etc)

Ops, sorry, i didn't notice the 3D of the wheel, because that image of your first post doesn't show well the 3D detail of the wheels.

Neat! Now they actually look like wheels, instead of tracks with wheels painted on... xD

Edit:Found two lone points and deleted them, I have adjusted the information.
The final version:
Points each: 118
Polygons each: 98
Original(before deletion of unneccesary points and polygons and the fuse of polygons):
Points each: 160
Polygons each: 176 (now
that's what I call a reduction in polies
)

cool, nice work
would you mind publishing those under GPL
http://creativecommons.org/licenses/GPL/2.0/ or Creative Commons
http://creativecommons.org/licenses/by-sa/3.0/ ? then i'll place it in our 'originals' repository for later use. (accessible trough svn
http://svn.gna.org/viewcvs/warzone/originals/ )

But how do they look on small Bodies? Can you show?
I think, the Wheels seem to have too much Polygons compared to the Protecting Frame over them, which should be more round.

I've only made wheels for heavy bodies so far, I think they'd look a bit odd on small bodies

Do you mean I should round the edges of the frame so it flows more nicely and isn't so sharp (eg. A curve instead of a right angle)

They look really nice. But I think empty space inside dasher is useless. Without it you can save about half of polygons.

4 wheels for the heavy-body
3 wheels for the medium-body
2 wheels for the light-body
possible ?
so that the wheeled-propulsion is looking the same at all body-types
eh, and 5 wheels on the super-bodyies perhaps? (dragon)

How about this left corner?

Here is a slightly better version (imo) of page-16-droid-drives that makes the wheel "case" look better.

Nice! Any chance of the entire land propulsion sets getting a makeover to be in line with the new wheel sets? It'd be kinda odd to have these new ones alongside the old ones...
Texture could do with a bit of tightening up too, but I dunno if that'd really be feasible unfortunately. :-S
