tweaked tileset textures

Post by Watermelon »

Updated:

*Reduced bumpmapped filter depth to fix 'honey' effect on tile textures
*Doubled the size of arizona(desert),rockies(snow),urban textures(from 256x256 to 512x512
*Performed some clean-up to all 3 feature sets
*Brushed up the trees in rockies(snow) to make them more impressive in game
*Added colored windows to urban buildings textures

should work:
http://upload2.net/page/download/MnJpfP ... 2.zip.html

not working yet:
http://files.filefront.com//;7237842;/

how to use:
create a folder called 'texpages'(case sensitive) in the directory where warzone executable resides, then copy the 3 png files to the newly created folder.

edit:looks like it will take some time for filefront to upload the files to its servers...will try uploading to another site now...sorry about that

Could someone upload this somewhere? RapidShare doesn't work with my browser. (I only get a 10KB html file instead of whatever file it should download.)

grim did a rotationaly seamless tutorial - if your interested in seeing tiles without the seams go Here....
‎"to prepare for disaster is to invite it, to not prepare for disaster is a fools choice" -me (kim-lav_coyote25-metcalfe) - it used to be attributed to unknown - but adding the last bit , it now makes sense.

IMO the bump effect is much to strong and shiny. It now looks like honey or plastic...

I'll see if  I can darken it a bit/reduce the depth of the bumpmapping, though I think it does look alot better than the original 'blur' ones...

check out the "map -> make seamless" filter in gimp -- it might make the texture look bad, but it's guaranteed to remove any possible seems (if you still see seams in wz from that tile, it's because of the renderer or your gfx card, not the texture).
