EW was modified to do that by Watermelon for WZ 2200. I would guess the same for FlaME.

Since pabs (maintainer of the official Debian package) doesn't like page-25-sky-urban.png because of its license (#3534) and my replacement in 2.3 didn't find that many fans either, maybe we could replace it with one of these if they're under a suitable license (e.g. cc-by-sa-3.0)?

A sudden idea I had, how difficult would it be to make the sky texture available in the shader, It would make for some great reflection maps, especially for things like transport windshields etc, as well as ambient light, with no extra memory cost.

@cyber: I will check the licensing of the images I used and report back.

@Jorzi: I'd love to see sky reflections in water, and also the "average colour" of the sky used to affect the light that shines down on the map (eg. if sky is red, whole map should have red tinge to it).

Also, I'd like to see option to have a static sky - eg. so there could be tree line or distant mountains / oceans, etc.

With static sky you could wrap it round an oval around the map and then perhaps have some cloud textures randomly float across the sky (or even a texture with flock of birds in distance to make it look like they are flying around).

@aubergine: not only water, but any unit using shaders could map this to their specular component ;)
Also, your new skies are really nice :)

I've now added licenses to most of the mods in this topic.

However, the last 3 skies ones came from "Cirrus & Dusk Skies" images uploaded by someone called "INSTANTLOADER": http://www.heroturko.me/b6f/cirrus+dusk ... panoramas/ -- I can't work out what the license is for them. Having done some searching, the images appear all over the internet posted by different people. Maybe some of our resident artists know some way to confirm the original source and license of those images?

Berg has just informed me that there are several more sky mods, example: viewtopic.php?f=33&t=5311&p=67064&hilit=sky#p67064

Where to put the skyzone mod? I tried it in mods/autoload but it didn't work...
(I had nullbot and ultimate scavs mod there but I don't think it should be a problem...)

You might need to unzip the .wz file - texture mods are a little flakey it would seem :s

aubergine: you don't need an "aurorazone" folder inside the zip, just put "texpages" straight into the root. I also see lots of Mac stuff in zip (all those .DS_Store and __MACOSX), which is not important but still not necessary.

Ya, macs do tend to clutter folders somewhat - I have no idea how to get rid of those files, they are invisible on mac os x.
