Let me introduce another stats editor.
Main difference from other is that it is cross platform and has more diffucult installation

It's a pity we can't get that hosted - players could then generate stats and have some way of publishing them as add-ons on the WZ website.

Great work though! It's about time some of these tools became properly cross-platform!

those files being standard csv files, they can be opened in your favorite spreadsheet program as well

This files looks simular as object-relational database dump. Editing it in spreadsheet program force modder to maintain integrity manualy.

And it is such good 'human readable' keys.
And so many unused data.
And hidden limits.
And not good documentation.

IMHO for backwards mod compatibility you should not change existing stats parser, you should add new parser. And before loading mod choose what parser you should use.

PS. Can you point me to thread or ticket about planning stats format changes?

I agree with you on that point, and i'm certainly not trying to stop you to improve that .

For stats change : i dont know, there was a .ini file conversion stuff planned by per, but it's a bad idea, i need to talk to him about that.

I have some ideas. And i can write python scripts to convert data to new format. Plese PM me if any discussion obut it starts.
