You made wrong assumptions straight at the beginning of this. The game mechanic WON'T flow as you expect.

I don't say that to be mean. Actually I really like your energy and some of your ideas and I'm looking forward for the moment you will invest it in something functional. If you don't understand from a flat game theory basis where you fail, you will at least see it when the game will be in test play. So please, make those tests ASAP !
I know, but I'd like to work on the weapon models so that players could at least tell what is what. :|

Edit: On second thought, I'll work on the Cyborg turrets after I release the beta, since everyone here, myself included, is eager to test this mod out, even if they have to deal with weird models.
That can only be a good thing if we're willing to make that sacrifice to see this mod :)

we'll all need to determine which unit templates need to be added in templates.txt (since I assume that AIs use that for creating their units)
No, JS AIs don't rely on templates.txt, you don't need to change that unless you want to support maps with new templates pre-placed.

This may be my last teaser post, as I'm just about ready to release the 1st beta, though I've been thinking about creating a new thread to post new versions of the mod as they come out.

Anyways, here's a couple more pics:

Now there's heavy versions of existing sensors. These heavy sensors have the same range as their vanilla Warzone 2100 counterparts that are mounted on Hardcrete Towers (which, in turn, typically have greater range than their vehicle-mounted counterparts), though they can now be mounted onto vehicles as well. They weigh alot though, so I'd advise mounting them onto a heavy body, supported by Half-Tracks or Tracks (which can now carry heavier turrets before starting to slow down).

Also pictured is a heavy truck mounted on top of a Wyvern hovercraft. This heavier version of the truck was built for fast construction and maintenance of structures in the heat of battle. How fast can it build structures?
One heavy truck can build at the same speed as 4 smaller trucks of the same tier.

However, the sheer weight of the turret ensures that players would need to support it on a heavy body with tracks or half-tracks (that is, until they start researching engine upgrades) in order for it to move around quickly enough for it to matter. Also, the turret is itself about 5.3 times as expensive as a smaller truck turret.
