Cost of a cyborg

Post by aubergine »

What does a cyborg cost in $?

For example: Lancer Cyborg

Does that entire borg cost $125 (as stated on link above)?

Or is the actual cost: (Cyborg + Turret + Body) * Propulsion

Which would be: ( cyborg:$125 + turret:$150 + body:$25 ) * propulstion:1.1(10%) = $330 ?

The cyborgs works exactly like other droids. Except they use a special weapon.

Body*propulsion+turret
After a quick check, here it is:
CyborgRkt1Ground:25$*CyborgLegs:1.1+CyborgRocket:125$ = 152.5$

What is called Cyb-Rocket-GROUND is the template, and I guess the FAQ omit the propulsion modifier.

Thanks for the clarification :)

Where are the costs for the bodies and turrets defined?

body.txt and weapons.txt as everything else. But I believe the faq dont mention it as it would just confuse people since we only have one template linking each anyway.

I was using the Guide tab on this site initially, but it confused me in the case of cyborgs hence me asking here in the forums.

I'm working on an AI that uses economics as it's central control mechanism for deciding which sub-AI gets money based on current gameplay state, which is what led me down this path - my AI will need to know what everything costs, both my own units and enemy units, research, buildings, etc.

While on the subject of $, I'm still quite confused.

My understanding is (please correct me if wrong):

* I need 1 power gen to power up to 4 derriks
* Each derrik produces oil at a given rate
* The rate of oil production can be increased by power modules on a power gen, and then power gen research
** Or does this just increase the number of derriks a single power gen can supply? (eg. does it allow a power gen to make more than 4 derriks operational?)
* The power gen is actually burning oil to make $
* The yellow power bar at the bottom of the screen is actually $ in the bank

Is that correct?

No. The rest sounds right.

Cool, thanks.

So I guess a clearer description of how it's working, from end user perspective, is:

* You need $ to build and research stuff
* The yellow bar at bottom of screen shows how many $ you have in the bank
* $ are earned by burning oil at power generators
* Up to 4 oil derriks can supply oil to each power generator (derriks that aren't supplying a generator remain idle)
* The rate at which a power gen burns oil (generates $) can be increased by power module and power research

yep. ( Pgen (55) + module (28) )*power level (300,500 or 700)*powerupgrade(100-290%)

To be exact :) .

my question is this. why is it in percent. why is it not in horsepower output or power produced ?

as per this article here. would make things a lot easier. would it not? and more accurate. yes/no??
