aubergine, maybe it's good idea to expand your idea and put it in dedicated topic? :-)
Scavengers building new structures would be a good material for new campaigns. ;-)

Indeed. I wonder if the oil derrick animation could be borrowed to get the crane arm to simply move up and down?

I imagine so, but how would you stop the blue/red beams coming out of the end of it during construction/demolishing - I imagine they are hard-coded somewhere?

Berg and NoQ asked me that.
This mod contain a template for the scav crane. You can only access it trough the debug menu now but the template exist so you can script with it.

aubergine, that beam is something that I would reserve for "advanced" trucks only, maybe it is only metaphor (nice visualization of build progress is even harder than nice unit parts scattering in explosion), but still it would look weird for even advanced Scavengers.

Scavs building normal power gens? I thought scavs had their own power gen model?
