Adding new maps for 2.3.9

There has been some requests for more maps to be added the official distribution. To be honest, I have not been as good checking out all the good maps people have been making as I should lately. So I need some feedback on which maps you think are both exceptionally good and have all base types supported, no spectator positions, no extra mods, clear license and known author.

My own list of maps that I am considering consists of:
http://addons.wz2100.net/map/rubber
http://addons.wz2100.net/map/starfish
http://addons.wz2100.net/map/disaster
viewtopic.php?f=10&t=6005&start=225#p84499

(A slight preference will be given to 3, 5, 6, 7, and 9 player maps, since we have none of them at the moment.)

Oh, 3, 5, 6, 7 and 9 players maps will be for master only. Sorry, forgot how old 2.3 is now :-)

Those are all excellent choices, imo, Per.

Here are a couple others that come to mind:

Snowfall <-- would need spectators removed, i guess, though totally worth doing, imo.

Island8

Encounter

This raises a question I've been meaning to pose for sometime. Does anything "bad" happen if we have a map in our map folder that has been added to base.wz? Weeding out the 32 flavours of NTW I've acquired I noticed I had individual maps such as UrbanChaos, Pyramidal, and Vision, since they were in distribution by the author previously..

No, it will just show up twice in your list.

I don't see any good user-friendly way of including maps with spectators or maps for 6 players etc in 2.3, unless X-player support is going to be backported. But even if it is, maps like Starfish or Monocot can't be included in 2.3, because they heavily abuse the new terrain renderer.

Not 100% correct.

Very bad things can happen...

I was assuming that the two maps are 100% identical.

I'd recommend adding http://addons.wz2100.net/map/outskirtsm , with the following game code fix: the map preview shouldn't show anything beyond scroll limits. Also, this map needs renaming; i don't mind renaming my Outskirts map in case Mysteryem's Outskirts map is going to be included.

I'm in no position to call my own maps "exceptionally good", but these two maps seem to be more or less criticism-free and satisfy other criteria:

At least Rubber, Disaster, Abandoned and Snowfall seem playable.

Haven't seen what the full bases or scavengers look like on most, though.

No comment on the other maps.
