Anywhere between one and two hours I think is a reasonable time to commit to a game. If one has an active social life and something happens during play, it can be reasonable expectation that you'll be able to finish the game without having to leave.

If none of the players is noob, most of the games do last that much, no matter how rushy one of them is. If one of the players is noob, you wasted your time getting into the game in the first place.
