Pipeline Idea and resources

I always was thinking about how the energy flows from the Oilwell to the Powerplants.
And my Idea was to provide a Structure called Pipeline, thats foating in the Air (not really floating, columns hold it).
This would add a nice element to the game, since you need to secure the Pipeline.
The pipeline would be not so stable as the oilwell, and needs to be well defended.
Because its hold with columns, you can drive underneath it. This feature reminds me on M.A.X wich is an ecellent Strategy game.
I also was wondering how you can produce Tanks with only oil?
The resource system is IMO a bit to easy for experienced gamers.
So why not add Mining?
I konw its very well to say and much work. Its only an idea.
