The initial bases are a bit tight, so you'd like to secure some room to expand.

8c-Source v1.01: reduced the amount of oil, fixed a few graphical glitches.

I dont want to force you of anything, if you have a good map idea, go for it ! But I would recommend that we try to stay between 6 to 10 oil/player . Now that we can do map-mod, i can turn that 8 oil/p in the power of 14/player if you prefer that amount of power. As long as your mod idea is not too fancy and can be used by other mapmakers, I'll be happy to make it.

Still a bit too high i think. Not that i care about how much power i get, but i care about how much I have to search everywhere with my trucks to build oils. That drag too much players attention.
I was thinking that in such a crowded map it's hard to control most of your part of oil anyway. Currently, as far as i remember, there are 11+5/8 oils per player (of them, 1 is hover-only and 1/8 is transport-only), and 6 of them are just near your base (one of which is hover-only). Is it really too much? Just say yes again, and i'd reduce it even more (:

A little announcement. I won't post map-mods in this thread that contradict the original gameplay. I may utilize this technology to add some extra features to my maps, like strong destroyable blocks or spectator positions, but not power or research tweaks, for no matter how fun they may be, i still want to play the game as is (: Still, i have one good idea in mind now about it (:

What i porpose i far to be an extreme mod. It's pretty much like changing the power level from medium to high in the starting screen. Players might not even realize
Think about it again. I think that as a map maker, you should have the choice of the exact oil position AND the choice of how much power they gives. You should also be able to choose the amount of starting power as you can choose the amount of starting trucks.
You could simply pack 2 maps. One being a "stock map" with 8oil/p, 2 truck and exact 1300 power at start. And another one as the NoQ's choice with more power (I know you like med power more

) and whatever you judge suited for your map.

Thinking ... Well, rather no, i'm not yet ready to do this. I agree that for playing all those MMO maps it might be good to make a few global rebalancings compared to 1vs1 duels, i just don't trust my taste in this yet. You're the one who knows team playing Ilu

I won't make any unobvious subtle changes.
I know you like med power more

Not exactly, i just can't resist the temptation to put an oil resource in every good spot (: I actually like extremely low-oil maps like 4c-Valley, their gameplay is very pleasant.
Anyway, the second deoiling of 8c-Source uploaded. 4 base + 4 around + 1 hover-only + 1/8 transport-only oils per player, and i don't think i can reduce it any further.
