Well actually that is intended behaviour.

That yes/no box you get is there to produce debuging information (in said file) we can use to find out what went wrong. It will not prevent warzone from crashing though.

So if you could describe what you're doing when it crashes and post the generated file here we could try and find a fix to your problem. You can attach the file to your post (up to 5MB) under "Additional Options...".

If you're in windows it should be in your temp directory. Usually somewhere in /documents and settings/username/local settings/temp or otherwise /windows/temp. (called warzone2100.mdmp)

On GNU/Linux you should be able to find it in /tmp (warzone2100.dmp)

you will have to go into windows explorer - look under tools / folder options / view - there are several items in there that will allow you to view hidden folders.  read very carefully...  check the box that says show hidden files - and uncheck the box that says hide known extensions.  and if your extremely carefull -  uncheck the box that says hide protected operating files.

before you get out of that area - make sure you click on apply to all folders and then click ok.

make sure to read before doing.

I think it means warzone couldnt find one of its data files,do you have a clean installation of warzone?

To be precise it means that audio_SetTrackVals is called to set some properties on "Beep1.wav". This however requires "Beep1.wav" to be loaded somewhere before. The problem however (as you might guess) is that there is no file named "Beep1.wav" and as such we can never load it.

What I'm wondering though is why it even wants to load that file?

The only places where these filenames are provided should be warzone.wz/audio/frontaud.cfg and warzone.wz/audio/audio.cfg

Looking at the above backtrace:

Code: Select all

ParseResourceFile+0x1d(pData=0xdece404, fileSize=0x1d1)
You can see that the filesize of whatever file that triggered the set_audio_SetTrackVals call is 465 bytes long (0x1d1 is hexadecimal for that).

warzone.wz/audio/frontaud.cfg is the only file that matches that size AFAIK.

So potterfanpete could you please attach this file? (you can rename warzone.wz to warzone.zip and then open it)
