yeah I saw the other hellypad pics was thinking on that so vtols don't fly through the rails.

Quick change artist this is not showing alpha channel so fence is not seethrough.Image
Concept only
I think the fences like this are better thanks for feedback.

Is it possible that the fence could have some angle from the horizontal, i dunno, maybe like 30 degrees? Like how the rails are at an inclination in these pics

Not sure about the angle, 25? 20? 15? Experimenting required if you're thinking of considering this

Colditz, while that's a lovely model, for balance reasons 3x3 VTOL pads are out of the question - they must be 2x2. Could you try rotating the structure 45 degrees; maybe shrinking it a bit? It's fine if the pads are slightly smaller than usual.

Well, It shouldnt be a problem to port the structure to 2x2 base, but the 4 platforms will overtower the base. I dont know if this is allowed or not, otherwise I have to redesign the entire structure. Of course I can adjust the size of one platform, at this model, and the single vtol base.
