I have tried to follow some of the issues on these pages but am not a wiz at this stuff.
My problem is Very slow game \no real control \and very dark screen.
I have a Pent. III, 512 meg, 64meg Video card.
As I said I tried the posted stuff but it really hasnt helped and I got lost in the gamma stuff.
This has been my favorite game since I beat the campaign on an old Sony Plastation I.
Can anyone help a non computer guy with this?
I would play the old stuff but it does'nt run on XP

The slowness might get fixed by setting "shadows=0" in the config file.
For the rest: I got no idea.
Maybe you can give some additional information, like whether you are running Windows, Linux, MacOS or BSD, what type of video card you have, what you mean with "no real control" and so on.

I tried the 0 shadows and this did help some but the screan is still  dark.
the game is still slow but somewhat better.
My video is a Geoforce = GF4MX440EE ,  64meg
System is Windows XP

This isn't about slow hardware. Your videocard should easily be able to render the game in it's full glory at pretty high frame rates. My GeForce 2MX 200 PCI can even do 800*600 at frame rates of about 30-40.

make sure you are running in fullscreen mode with relatively new driver,or wz will fall back to opengl software mode in windowed mode.

I had to add the Fullscrene into my start up or it would not give it to me.
If I could get my old stuff to work on XP I'd settle for that, even that rocks when it works.
If I understood all this stuff better Id be coding every day since it is my favorite game but because
I dont I have to rely on others.

old stuff means normal warzone2100 ya?
well, version 1.01 works not on win xp ya.
but if u download and install the patch 1.10, then it will work.

gak    dont use fileplanet... geez looweez....   so darn slow and if they are busy ...well fergedaboudit! >:(

the warzone 2100 german archive has all the original files.... ( in english as well as german - ask kruevf ). ;D
