Well if you want to... I won't be the one to say no to any willing developer. However flail used a lot of .net only libs so if you are converting by hand you will have to use other ones
. Just ask flail if he could give you the source
good luck

Re: A Map Editor
As far as I've seen sources it might be easier to create new UI from scratch (very fast, graphical designer) and rewrite logic.macuser wrote:Well if you want to... But first you need to decide, otherwise I'll work on writing it using Edit World sources (for logic, not copy, paste and compile).

No Whatever you do DON'T build it off of editworld

They had other shortcomings as well, I won't get into 'cause it's a waste of time).

Re: A Map Editor
I've said that in both cases this will be clean start with copying logic, not copying code directly, so not copying bugs (but always can create new ones
).

Re: A Map Editor
If you are going to write it in C++ why not just convert the code from .net and then write the interface from scratch and then modify the code to fit it
?

Re: A Map Editor
I've not said that it's not possible and for sure I'll not use that way, but as far as I know often it's easier to rewrite something from scratch than port.
Can you upload somewhere results of that converter? I can evaluate then which way is better.

Sorry, I am not at home right now (i'm using my laptop) and all the code and IDEs are on my desktop
. However I can send you that when I get home tomorrow however you do realize that it won't convert the other frameworks that it uses like openTK and that zip lib. C++ substitues for those will have to be found and implemented
.

Qt is for creating GUIs (and not only), ZIP is also not a problem.

Alright, some bug fixes and...what's this on the Triangle Setter pane?
I'll have a new version of the flaManual up tonight.

The newest version wants me to download the .net framework (4.0) while version 1.02 doesn't.Flail13 wrote:another version (1.03) is up
My biggest criticism about flaME is the controls. There is no way to figure stuff out without having the first page of this thread open. A menu or dialog listing the commands and their key combos would be very helpful, having more buttons/menu actions would be even better ( the keyboard shortcuts could go in the tool tips.)

flail13, here's a link to NET Framework 4, you should stick it in the first post:Safety0ff wrote:The newest version wants me to download the .net framework (4.0) while version 1.02 doesn't.Flail13 wrote:another version (1.03) is up
