Yes I have. Unfortunately for me it's written in VB using the .NET framework. Which means that I would either have to try and get WINE to work, or use the MONO framework which isn't fully up to date with the full .NET library.

Besides, this is a personal learning project. When (and if) it works well enough, I might release it to the community.

Ahhh, I see.

Actually, this dual dev could be a very good thing because FlaME is Win only and you are developing AWZME on what Linux or Mac ? - for which there has never been a native WZ Map editor.

Your AWZME could very well fulfill the need of many potential WZ Mappers who do not run Windows and that is a way cool thing. :D

So... even though I run Win / FlaME I hope you continuing deving AWZME for all those others who have longed to make WZ maps but cannot because WINE has never really worked well at all for the native Win WZ Map Editors.

Regards, RV

I'm planning to start working on Qt4 version of EditWorld (for all platforms), maybe we could share some code in kind of library?

AWZME appears to use trunk terrain, which FlaME doesn't use. Would probably be better to stick with AWZME for future development.

My only nitpick is that it uses GTK (which means it's gonna have so many problems on Windows), but I guess it's better than .NET. ;)

GTK is a cross-platform toolkit that has a ton of problems.

For instance, unless you mess with it a lot, it doesn't support Unicode on Windows. It also suffers from a whole bunch of other problems, and is really inferior to Qt.

"I guess it's better than .NET" is because .NET is Windows-only, and GTK is not.
