Maybe hovering the mouse over the heart could show the progress (at least in fixed teams mode,) I don't know how difficult this would be with the gui code.

Yea giving it a yellow- redish color will make it stand out.

With the resource flow system, if it is put into place, would it be possible to pull power from both sides? obviously not charge them both fully, but if you pulled half as much from each person (unless one side is stalling, in such case it would pull 100% from the side thats not stalling). This way, people can make sure techs are being researched without wasting resources on it..
