I had a couple of new weapon ideas, I like throwing my ideas round, and I don't actually know if these are any good xD
1- Flechette cannon
2- Thermite/Plasmite artillery
And I don't think this goes in here, but on the topic of cyborgs, why not have legged propulsion (Like spider tanks or something) that can climb up cliffs? Just looked around, the exact same thing has already been suggested xD

I think that "flechette" would be nearly the same as fin stabilized, discard sabot ammunition (which represents the "FSDS" on the Cannon "APFSDS rounds" upgrades) classification. In addition, flechette ammunition result in a loss of weight, reducing inertia and thus, armor-piercing capabilities, but increasing accuracy. It would reduce effective range, if you are using materials with the same density to produce the rounds.
To make sense, Flechette Cannon would work nearly in the same way as a regular cannon with APFSDS upgrades. The main characteristics would be the same, the purpose would be the same... Unless you are proposing the damage type to be different than regular cannons, they would look too similar, and therefore turn out to be obsolete.

I was thinking about something that fired spread out, like a shotgun, would be low level tech probably.

Oh, you are thinking about "Beehive" rounds. I did some research and found out somtehing very similar to what you're thinking. However, I think it should be applied to artillery if implemented. It would have good splash radius, 2 tile I think, and about 3 tiles minimum range. I like the idea of making additional AP weaponry because I often feel like cyborgs are somewhat overpowered in MP games. Is that just me, or someone else shares this feeling? :rolleyes:
AP artillery with good splash radius and instant damage would be interesting against cyborgs on large numbers, as those are troublesome due to the forementioned firing concentration.

Yeah, I hate big swarms of cyborgs, I usually just destroy them with the LasSat if I can.

I have a very clear idea of what I would like shotgun weapons to be like.
It would have an initial range of 5.5 - falling just short of machine gun.
It would have a damage rating and spread dependant upon range of impact.
At short range damage would be high, spread would be low.
At long range damage would be low, spread would be high.
ROF would initially be reminiscent of a light cannon - stepping up to a ROF just short of a machine gun in late T2/ early T3 (look at the new rapid fire shotguns developed for the military).
A spin off from this would be the cyclone, and also a similar ground-based flak cannon.

Man if any weapon should be made.... it should be the jericho missle emplacement from the iron man movie... imagine how powerful that'd be
