.

ironically, Terk has succeeded magnificently in his unstated goal of getting as much, if not more, attention than many positive contributions meriting at least a fraction of that focus and conspicuously not receiving it.

imho, the only worthwhile info Terk could have provided subsequent to his initial ejaculation would have been a request to follow it up with his system specs - as it is obvious that the majority of users have had, and still do, a more positive experience than his, otherwise there would have been a floodgate of like complaints over the years. If there be any truth to his experience, then it falls squarely in this localized area and perhaps that combined with very poor end user computing habits on his part - all to be avoided if specifically divulged. Without that information forthcoming Terk's statement merited nothing. But then satisfying a perverse sense of amusement, or pseudo righteous indignation, would have gone unrequited. .

Yeah, it was good for me, too. "...and afterwards, they smoked cigarettes."

You left out the sense of entitlement that many seem to have. Personally, I blame Sesame Street for this behavior.

You know, my reply was the only one that actually tried address his complaints.

We don't need all that much righteous indignation from you guys, okay? Just stop. The only reason I haven't locked this topic is in case he actually wants to come back and answer the question of "What's wrong with the MP system?" The rest of you, yes, he could've been nicer; big deal!

What Terk offered us was a rant (and a fine one, IMHO). With rants, the goal is not to logically refute them, but to top them with an even better rant (and to do so without resorting to the crude generic cursing which is the mark of a rank amateur). See the replies from Per and EvilGuru for examples. Locking the thread would be unsporting.

That, too. But some of these counter-rants are pretty poor. :/

For Terk's rant to present a sporting challenge it would have to possess wit, originality, an artful turn of phrase. At best, Terk's rant is pedestrian, the language serviceable, thus presenting no challenge to a sporting counter. Stooping to conquer is hardly invigorating. Much like knowing you can execute a fool's mate before making your opening move would hardly be sporting. The only real challenge with Terk's rant is elegantly unmasking its ulterior and perverse intent, which I consider accomplished. Not locking the thread I agree with. But it is as much a long shot that Terk will expand cogently on any of his gripes as it is to expect a gazelle's bounding grace through the savanna from a hippo rollicking in a river shore mud bath. Besides, perverse intent by way of anonymous foment is as much a knaves trademark as a skunk its stripe and stench.

'nough said from yours truly, :P

Dear Terk,

...no let`s start again

Trek

The work done by the developers with this RTS game is really great. They spend their time and work for nothing.

I personally only play the windows version and only since few days.
I had already played other RTS like Dune, C&C, AoE, RED Alert and I can say that WZ2100 is really great. Ever tried other open source RTs games? this is the best.

...even more, the AI here (BecomePray) is the best if compared with ALL other RTS games.
Concerning the crashes, I experienced ONLY 4-5 crashes on a total of 7 campaigns and 4 skirmish games played until yet...but I use to save every 5-10 mins therefore I do not see this as a big issue.

Also I like this game because it is opensource and there is a good community of players behind it.

hei Developers, keep up the good work!
My Warzone 2100 mods:
Download DyDo-AI for Warzone skirmish/multiplayer games.
Download A2C-HM (Alpha 2 Campaign - Hard Mode).
Download A3C-HM (Alpha 3 Campaign - Hard Mode).

I'm gonna say what everyone is thinking. He's gone and never coming back. And if he does, i'll be surprised. but as far as im concerned, he is an ass, moron, retard, dumbass, idiot, and everything in between. i highly doubt that he knows what he'd doing with a computer. but i love the dev. for everything that they have done for this game. this game has been reborn, and that is all that matters. not some retard looking to get some attention, or some hater putting you guys down. you are the FRACKING BOMB!!!
my name is drath. i am not from this world. i am the only one of my kind. life here will get tough for you. get over it.

This thread archive worthy? It rather enjoyed seeing that idiot complain about how the game has survived 10 years and has been made much better, as well as seeing The Project shoot him down.

I saw the New Paradigm leader shoot him down, but as far as I know The Project, Collective, and NEXUS all stayed silent on the issue. ;)
