Modeling Request - i do it!

Hi to all. I was reading trough this forum and could not decide, what structure or unit to model.
So i was thinking ... there are lots of artists here with ideas or concepts in head or on paper.
I am offering to model in blender and export to pie your ideas. All i need is at least one picture with description how you imagine some details and i model it.
If there are some of you that want me to model your ideas, let me know.

Best regards,
Astorian

Are those pictures from already made models or do you want me to do it like they are on the images? Factory looks good.

No, the pictures are concept art. We're looking for the same kind of thing.

Hello to all,
I done the basic model for the factory. The result is here http://www.redmod.sk/wz/factory.blend.
Should the holes be done by transparent texture or modeled?

Best regards,
Astorian

It looks great!
I think the holes are unnecessary, because it is a "while building" art.
If someone can post here more concept arts. I searched whole google and nothing. On copy of official site too, only nearly empty directory of screenshots :/

I found another one picture of factory:

and command center (wider one):

EDIT:
Here is a render of model, if someone want to look:

and with lighting similar to that on art (I got bored :D):

Hello all,
Thank you 3ek for posting the rendered images - they look cool)

Hi again,
I modeled the Aerodynamics Lab

This model had more details than the Power lab, but i like the style.
Again - please let me know what do you think about it.

I wonder what these labs were for.

The original plan was for there to be a bunch of different types of research facility for each type of research, but this was discarded in favor of a single one (unnecessary complexity).

Well, i would like to have the buildings in stead of all upgrades in one research facility. The buildings represent the tech tree more separately.
And you could attack the enemies base to just destroy one so you get advantage in battle or defending position.

Ah and do you like the models? Just curious.

I had a thought upon seeing astorian beginning to bring these concepts to real life that they could, at the very least, (if neatly textured natch, the hardest part of 3D modeling) make for lovely eye-candy additions to the present sparse set of Map Feature Models. Speaking of which, the Urban Building Features could use an art make-over. Map Features being destructible present some very interesting possibilities in map-making along the lines of designing for tactical deconstruction of the map in game play - something which is evident, I think, on Urban Maps especially. This, me thinks, at the same time makes "Map Features" a bit more than merely "eye-candy", potentially......

At the same time I also appreciate astorian's PoV (as quoted below) for their uses in making the Tech Research Tree more modular - so many have had issues over the years with the way everything is lumped together in a seeming haphazard fashion and perhaps specialization would make it more friendly, comprehensible, on the end-user side... maybe even more interesting tactically too.

Yes, but imagine having to build all of those buildings. It would be so frustrating and not fun.

And destroying just one wouldn't give much of an advantage - they'd just rebuild it. And in the meantime, they'd still have all the research they've done so far, so it wouldn't be that big of a difference. Maybe if there was a noticeable delay after rebuilding a facility during which nothing could be researched?

Indeed. They're pretty good. :)
