Hi all! I would do some 3d work for this project but I'm a little bit confused how to do it.
I made a cargo container model (really low poly but painting was a real work at this case). I wonder how to put it in the game without consuming hours of my time to know how the game is build. I'm interested in making models only (some props and envinronment for example) and using some tools to convert it to the game-usable format and just upload in the place when it will be available for the other developers. Can you point me some links where the process is described? Or I'm ready to co-op with someone who focused on the building mod and take this 'convert part' on himself.
Keep in mind I use Blender on Vista box. World Editor that I found doesn't work on Vista.
I spend time searching website and forum but there is no step by step instruction for blender users. Maybe some more experienced developer guide me (and the others) in one shot.

Does this help you?

I like what you have done so far.

and it ends here.

Unfortunately not. I red it before. Now I want to know what the next steps are? This is a missing part of this (very good after all) tutorial.

Re: From Blender to Warzone. Easy?
Unfortunately, it is not easy. One way may be to export from Blender to 3DS and use the 3ds2pie converter: http://download.gna.org/warzone/develop ... ie-5209.7z
Re: From Blender to Warzone. Easy?
Hello again! First of all. I upload .blend file (texture included!) in this location:
http://rapidshare.com/files/242349863/f ... blend.html
or
http://www.filefactory.com/file/ag5gf03 ... Poly_blend
I download the converter pointed by PER and use it, but something must be wrong beacause 3ds file exported by Blender (2.49) have 758 bytes and converted to pie format have 704 bytes. And even if I converting it to pie goes fine what next?
Anybody run WorldEditor in Vista environment? Can you give me a link to such archive? If anybody successfully convert this blend file to the pie format please make it available to me.
Have a nice day!

Re: From Blender to Warzone. Easy?
Hi crabclanx.
First let me say that your texturing is pretty awesome. I wish i would have your skill.
You can export from blender right to .pie file. But first you should decide what object you wish to replace.
If you have decided, the fastest way is to import that WZ object to blender, then import your model an join meshes (ctrl+j) so that you melt your model with the (WZ) imported one.
Then delete the WZ model mesh leaving only your model mesh, so you don't have to manually edit the names of the objects, create empty (blender thingy for directional/axial orientation and centering) and bind it to the object.
Then export pie and replace in game.
Best regards,
Astorian
