As for save games, it shouldn't be *that* long. I don't think that code has been touched in ages.
Save games: notice that one extra file now saved: game.wzs, which can range in size from 550 to 900kb. The time taken to save is not in itself long, but at about 2/3 seconds is twice as long as previously. Thought at first the game had hung. I suspect the extra time is needed to search out the content for the new file.

Herewith the shot, suitably cropped:

It simply takes from the game flow and does not add anything of value. I'm sure there must be a better way of adding this info, which I can appreciate would be of use in MP.

Oh that... those are the same colors as the friend / foe text. Can you suggest something better?

yellow = friend, red = enemy, white = you, gray = dead

The only time savegames take lomger to save is, if you have lots of units...

Remember, another turret just becomes "VTOL Hyper Velocity Cannon Hydra Vengeance VTOL", which still fits in 60 chars.

I often use red-orange where most people use red. It shows up a lot better, and has much of the same connotations of "enemy", "danger", "bad", etc.

Hi.

I just wanted to say thank you for your hard work on this game, because I and several friends are playing it (currently 2.2rc1) on a regular basis for some time now and it is always great fun, even if we play together against AI!

I have got one question. When you are in a team with friends and you share your research, you see a little heart in the interface when something else is already researching this option. Could you make it that people either can't click these options then or that if they still click them, research is faster then? It would be cool if more persons could research on the bigger things that take a long time. Or is this already happening and I didn't notice?

Thanks again!

That's it...

Hadn't played 2.2rc1 long enough for any team to accumulate lots of them. It's not an issue, Buginator; if saving takes longer now, then it takes longer...
I was partly curious and raised it also in case there was a prob.

BTW, a change was made concerning this... though from my tests, I still don't see that big of a difference.

I liked it better when the flashlights and pulse lasers etc. were slower moving, like in 2.1.3.

I do like the fact that pepperpots are now useful, since I like variety.

I have a few points I wish to raise:

- I find the FMW sequences are lagging in places. Notably the Campaign briefing and the first briefing regarding the NEXUS intruder program. I don't know how serious that is as it's good to see them back in the game anyway.

- Whats with the mini map not picking up enemies if you are no-where near them? I have not had time to look through all the notes but nearly failed a couple of missions when i thought I had wiped everything out and nothing was on the mini map unless I scattered forces to check every area. I had the map all revealed too.

- I am not getting the music played during the missions, although I did in 2.1. Any reason for this? Checking music settings showed they were fine.

- Also, if i finished the mission and an oil patch was still burning I am unable to build on it next mission as the game claims it is still burning despite being no fire. So I need to save and reload.

I don't know how serious those issues are as aren't game breakers at all. But have been playing through Campaign 1 for the last three days and just noticed them. Sorry if someone already pointed those out.

Revelo: I find the FMW sequences are lagging in places. Notably the Campaign briefing and the first briefing regarding the NEXUS intruder program.
Me: Your OS and hardware specifications may be helpful...

Me: As i remember there is no mission to wipe out all enemies. Mostly you must get all artifacts (green dots on minimap) or research something special. Other goals are to wipe out bases (red dots) or rescue some troops. So always there are red or green dots on the minimap.

Revelo:I am not getting the music played during the missions, although I did in 2.1. Any reason for this? Checking music settings showed they were fine.
Me: Your OS? Soundhardware? OpenAL already installed before WZ2100 (Maybe with Creative Soundblaster)?

Revelo: Also, if i finished the mission and an oil patch was still burning I am unable to build on it next mission as the game claims it is still burning despite being no fire. So I need to save and reload.
Me: Maybe a bug. Use Trac for reporting (or searching whether it was already reported).

Revelo: I don't know how serious those issues are as aren't game breakers at all. But have been playing through Campaign 1 for the last three days and just noticed them. Sorry if someone already pointed those out.
Me: To avoid this try searching the Trac or forum. If it is not mentioned there it is possible some new bug.

Sorry for my meddling, i am not member of WZ ressurection, but sometimes i want to help :)

Thanks for the tips, although i am having trouble locating my hardware specifications and my sound hardware on Vista :( Never had to find them on my Laptop before.

Could find them easily on XP before my main computer packed up.

EDIT: I managed to sort out the music issue by copying all the music files from the Warzone 2100 file on my C: drive and pasting them into the music folder in the Warzone 2.2 file under documents, so thats all sorted at least.

Alternatively post your Laptop here (i.e. DELL Inspirion 1525) so someone can google this.
This info normally is on the bottom side.

Hmmm... can't find anything about, except that it is an reseller notebook with different names/brands. (maybe someone can read and search on japanese sites?)
Try dxdiag.exe and msinfo32.exe to find out more. Also the device manager in control panel gives infos. (don't know exactly how it is named in english since i am not using an english OS)

But maybe running Warzone2100 as administrator solves some of the problems you mentioned.

I am the administrator, I am the only guy who uses the Laptop.

As for system specs to sort the cutscenes out, what specifically do you need? My Laptop has a Core 2 Duo naturally and an NVIDIA GeForce 8400m GS graphics card.
