Soooo...

I was reading topics (dont ask which), one of them was about scavangers and about a builder for them, as trucks wouldnt work properly... Anywho, this can be their builder or just another random unit for them...

Just started on it, and i need more texture pages :P (first proper model)

Image

And a differnt view...

Image

View with wheels :D
Image

polygon count so far is... 72 95 (not bad imo atm... still has quite some way to go...)

Things to do...
Add wheels. done.
Add the conections between the front of the bulldozer/what ever it is and the main part. done
Add more detail
Add textures :P

p.s. the part that looks like a polygon is missing is where a glass like texture will be... youll see once its finished :P

........ truly "Scav-like"... Just because WZ does not have persistent battle wreck GFX doesn't mean Scavs wouldn't
scavenge battlefields for weap parts, etc.... or even 'Steal" them from the parts depots of their enemies.

Real nice chopper.... always wanted.Scavs to have flight capability in their forces.... many have dreamed of this since the early days....

One thing that would also be all over the USA after the nuke holocaust-winter (intact & undamaged) that Pumpkin never thought to use for Scavs would be Heavy Equipment used in building anything - stuff like Bobcats, Skidsteers and Bulldozers (come wheeled or trax like tanks).... this stuff far out-numbers Firetrucks and can cover rugged terrain that buses, 18-wheelers, Campers and fire trucks could never deal with... plus they can maneuver in unusual ways ... zig-zag in forward motion real easy and turn 360 on the spot very fast.... plus their bodies are like armor already and what needs armor can be scrapped together Scav-like or like in The Road Warrior movies... just a thought.
- I can get the general shape of your Bulldozer and it looks right-on but it would show better even without textures, IMHO, if the whole, poly-planes, were rendered as a gray scale through camera lighting... What I mean is like the attached model.

- Look forward to seeing your progress... :)

Keep the polycount low, please. In game, this thing isn't going to be very big. :/

i know :P, just getting the best shape of it, then removing the ones that are pointless

- You can see the shape better in your second set of pics.

- I think many don't realize just how big these babies can run. You got your Bobcats about the size of a car, then you got your
earth mover bulldozers that are the size of an apartment building - way bigger than any tank..... even the heavies... Those would
make effective APCs for Scavs.

- Do you have pics of RL bulldozers to work off of for details-textures ? I have some from when I operated heavy equip
for a couple years.. Serious biz but a lot of fun too operating those...

Yea, there are some crazy sized ones.

I just googles some images and chose which ones i liked, i really need to find some textures now >.> (and learn how to do it properly) anywho, over n out

- Cool.

- As you already know 99% of heavy equip is painted yellow (other colors inc white)... I've seen abandoned bulldozers that have been
attacked by weather and the textures that came-out were what's called "blistered paint", darkish streaks from decayed hydrolic fluid seals leaking and of course rust spots...

When i frelease the Warzone 2120 Total Conversion Mod and the Ultimate Warfare V2.0, maybe i'll retake the work of it, but lots of changes i have to redo again like Research Tree, Weapon Balancing, AI (Gotta change it to Stock V1.04, but customized and improved to outmatch even the New Branch 2.1.x AI)

It will take a lot of work to do it, but i'm sure i gonna finish it even if it's late.

hummmm....

i cant find any tutorials on texturing... (meaning making my own =/)

but i THINK i know how to do it...

These are the options :P

a)i continue searching for texturing help
b)someone gives me textures to put on bulldozer and future projects that involve construction type of vechiles
c)someone gives me the links to texturing help :P
d)i try to make my own textures... which will most likely fail

See this tut by Dancing Moogle (aka Radiosity) for Texturing with PieSlicer using Pumpkin texture pages:

If you're using Blender and making your own textures then Elio's tut is here:
