Well I read the first page and the last page if I have a few days to kill I might read the rest, but on the screen shots of the map you still have yet to learn how to blend in the tiles RJ hehehehehe.

* You son of a ma gun....

i'm sure there is a whole bunch of stuff I can learn from ya still

(though I'm may know some internal WZ things that may come as a suprise to ya...)
* But actually the screens are from a proof of concept proto (I was mainly concerned with Ai / Pathing & LOS / IF dynamics & that is all finely tuned, working beautiful). The final is not useing this tile / feature set at all or any that are currently public. The ones I'll be useing are to to die for artistically & blending will be a non-issue (btw the tech is not the same as what your used to or available now as well a bunch of other major enhancements - including HOW maps will work). Actually, you will be blown away when you see what I'm talking about.
* For now though, I've suspended this project to put all my spare time into "WZ 2200" (that's not a typo !).... I'll probably role a bit of all this into Mission Structures / Maps of that project.
* It's good to have ya back in the mix, 4nE.... we did miss your irreverance, insights & masterfull skills.

@ medavox:
* We kinda touched on Larry Niven as in the Heinlein school of Sci Fi story-telling... here's some more interesting tidbits...
* He was a multi-millionaire before he ever published a story.
* His signature fictional work of 25 years ago is a series of yarns around a structure called
Ringworld which he borrowed from RL physicist Freeman Dyson (whose daughter Ester Dyson has been a very influential theorist on the potential of the Internet since day one to the present.)
* "Ringworld" inturn inspired Bungie Game Studios in their creation of "Halo" - in fact "Halo" is their synonym for physist Freeman Dyson's "Ringworld" concept / name.
* Anyhow, all Larry Nivens work is worth reading, including his melding of the Sci Fi & Mystery genres.
* For that matter Freeman Dyson's speculative non-fiction works on extra-terrestial civilizations are not only fabulous, facinating, & scientifically rigorous they are also beautifully written (The great Physicist Richard Feyman was also a tremendously entertaining writer.... heck Einstein himself had a brilliant handle on the written word - shoot, his thought experiments were masterpieces of exposition as well as conceptually.)
* Boy did I go all over the map with this post.... oh well, it's an accurate reflection of how my brain functions & also my belief in that "six degrees of seperation" notion.

Locked topic, you're going rather off-topic here, plus this topic is old enough that I do not want to see it revived.
