yet another song idea...

here's one try, downloading (if possible) and then loop it on your music player as you play the game. thats what i did and it didn't make me hate it even after more than 3 hours of gameplay with the same 6 minute loop. BUT , I the creator can handle things like that, the average wz fan might not... if this doesn't go well, i want try to make anything else, like say, if my style just doesn't fit anyones vision of what it should be, then i'll give up and leave it for the others to deal with. if anyone likes it enough,i may continue to work on making a soundtrack. i would've but the file is to big, with a 3 mb, limit my 6mb song just won't fit. once again you must check out my soundclick to listen to it. if you allready found it great, otherwise here is a link....http://www.soundclick.com/bands/default ... dID=887458
here it is... again... gl with it.

i listened to both first. decided i liked the changes you made in the second version and proceeded with that one.
i looped while playing skirmish and found it tasty, enjoyable, throughout the length of the game. and this is very different than my usual style of music.

those music is pretty :3 i agree importing these in warzone!

still i prefer my style of dangerous soundtracks :ninja: like u play mission 2 vs scavengers in orginal warzone , u got the one dangerous soundtrack , try making more of those :3 they rule! hooray for dangerous music! (boss music)

Sounds good, Dyslexik :)

What software do you use for mixing/sequencing?

i like "dangerous" music too, DC. approaching campaign music is much like composing a soundtrack for a movie. whereas in a movie you edit your music to "scenes" (suspense, danger, etc.) in a game campaign it's best done to your script triggers and map coordinates and that is quite a bit more demanding than just a simple looping with "danger" segments. you have to work closely with a scriptor or know scripting yourself. when i compose game music i have in mind just how i'm gonna edit to the script calls (like enemy spawns) of the unfolding story in game play.

It's very nice we have one more music artist here.
Nice work, and welcome!

my actualy point is , when u play like a survival mission (mission 10 arizona) where alot of enemy's attack ur land , then like a danger music plays , not a soundtrack (short) , i mean a whole music , similar to warzone playstation version :3

I did propose/wish for an event based dynamic playlist system similar to the one in Total Annihilation in one of the Wishlist threads a couple of months ago. Seems like no-one read it or is interested though. :)
I think it would be really interesting to be able to create playlists where you could perhaps make several versions of the same song (or different songs with similar melodies or something) which could then be switched between by the current situation like in TA, Wing Commander and System Shock 2.

I understand what you are saying DC. Trust me, my response still applies.

i remember that discussion fisk0 and believe it's the most powerful way to do music in a game. it's exactly how i can do it in my game work.

however, wz design and source is "gnarly". something along these lines can be done with the wz campaign "down and dirty", like a hack, and would require a heavy investment of time to boot. all that considered is off-putting to anyone that can do it - plus at this time it really doesn't fit the road map of development.... let me briefly explain how i understand and come to that conclusion.

the wrp is commited to doing work that is clean and optimal. and to do what you suggest optimally requires a number of things to be in-place already. foremost of those things would most definitely be EG's work on widgets (maybe Lua scripting as well). at such a time as the new widget scheme is fully implemented then this method of doing in-game music may seriously be considered for implementation. mind you i'm not saying this is set in stone as far as wrp development because i'm obviously not part of the crew working on the source. all i'm saying is that with fully implemented widgets such a scheme would make sense to develop if such work interested someone with skills enough to make it happen.

.

you mean pull whatever wz music you like out of it's static shell, make up your own playlist in media player, turn off the music in wz` options, run your playlist in media player while you play the game.or did you mean something different ? in the foregoing you are actually performing the dynamic algorithmic function of code-scripting and a new UI....

Yeah, that would be:
"yet another (unnecessary, complicated) song idea"
:D
Modifying the current UI for it to have a similar selective music playback such as C&C: Red Alert 2 is crazy stuff.
