yeah, and if my experiences with synaptic interfacing has taught me anything, those "bots" still get slaughtered in combat.

If those robots are the same robots I read about earlier this week (the engineer site doesn't load completely ) those bots are not designed to do any combat... They must themselves be able to walk to a position or get an object autonomously, but a human can tell them via mind which (from a predefined set) object they should take or to which location (again a predefined set) they should go to.
So far away from any combat situation.

was referring to the inevitability that various world militaries will take an interest in this, and that in warzone, 'borgs always eat it really fast without making too much of a fuss on the way out.

at this moment, though, i do feel like a glass of milk. hmmmm....
