Personal wish-list:
  • Improved textures (poly count is fine by me)
  • If possible, add the in-game music of 2100 back in. *
  • Easier distinguishable team colours
  • More vehicle bodies & propulsion
  • More tech (particularly upgrades for lesser weapons)
  • Counter missiles & chaff (Rockets, scourge-type & other missiles can be shot down. VTOLs have missile countermeasures [secondary weapon perhaps])
  • Naval units (after seeing designs in a thread)
  • Naval structures & oil rigs
  • More pre-made base layouts for skirmish
  • Better selection of cyborgs
  • Mines (via either the truck or a mine layer, which would be a special unit)
  • Force attack (force selected units or defences to attack a specific unit/ground location} Can be useful when the AI takes spoken for oil rigs or builds on burning ones.

* Some in-game music: http://uk.youtube.com/watch?v=7KINcNMDyQY , http://uk.youtube.com/watch?v=gtgiplRk_ng , http://uk.youtube.com/watch?v=fBzEImYnp ... re=related

new models in progress
Dr_Frodo wrote:Easier distinguishable team colours
O_o which?
Dr_Frodo wrote:If possible, add the in-game music of 2100 back in.
afaik 2.1 beta 5 not, but trunk (developer version) has it already
Dr_Frodo wrote:More vehicle bodies & propulsion
erm, yes, why more bodies? we already have 11 bodies.
for propulsion i'd like helicopters (slower and more ammo than vtol) and naval (stronger than hover)
Dr_Frodo wrote:More tech (particularly upgrades for lesser weapons)
rebalancing is always work in progress, you could contact zarel or troman, they'll give you information how to do yourself
Dr_Frodo wrote:Counter missiles & chaff (Rockets, scourge-type & other missiles can be shot down. VTOLs have missile countermeasures [secondary weapon perhaps])
interesting anti-rockets, would be nice
Dr_Frodo wrote:Naval units (after seeing designs in a thread) - Naval structures & oil rigs
in slow (no more progress has been made) needs a factory design idea.
Dr_Frodo wrote:Better selection of cyborgs
could you explain this further?
Dr_Frodo wrote:Mines (via either the truck or a mine layer, which would be a special unit)
i think the ntw mod has them
Dr_Frodo wrote:Force attack (force selected units or defences to attack a specific unit/ground location} Can be useful when the AI takes spoken for oil rigs or builds on burning ones.
yes, would make life against ai a bit easier xD

Pre-built pieces:

Well, my idea is that we could build pieces of tanks (Weapon/body/propulsion) individually and replace obsolete parts using the repair station.

Advantages: Faster than the factory.
Disadvantages: The tank is still vulnerable when upgrading.

The weapon MUST be removed first to do that.

An part should be added to the repair center to hold unused pieces. It could only hold one piece.

Ex:

Deck: Empty
Vehicle: Machine Gun/Cobra/Tracks
*The Repair Station put the MG in the deck*
*The Machine gun is replaced by a Heavy Machine Gun*
*The HMG is mounted on the tank*

Result:
Deck: Empty
Vehicle: Heavy Machine Gun/Cobra/Tracks

Note:
A Body change would be longer than a weapon change.
A propulsion change would be even longer.

Here goes my wish - better experience recycling

At present, when you're upgrading units, experience is held in some sort of invisible buffer. If I recycle experienced units at a facility, the next thing I build will be an experienced unit - even if I only want an expendable scout. There is no way to warn users about the state of the experience-buffer (interesting when loading a saved game). A series of ideas on how to improve this would be:
  • When the 'experience buffer' is not empty, display an experience icon overlaid on top of the vehicle icons in the factory construction menu. If you click on that icon, you will build that unit -- with the experience level it says on the icon
  • Do not use 'recycled experience' unless you want to, by adding a star icon to the vehicle construction menu. If you de-select the star, the next unit will not take any experience from the buffer
  • Extend the previous idea with 2 star icons instead of one, allowing the following states: take no experience (no stars enabled), take enough experience to become 'trained' (one star), or take all available experience in one big gulp (both stars - yay super-units!)
Also, it would be nice to have access to the status menu shown at the end of SP levels during the level itself: how many units do I have? what experience do they have?. And adding hover-tips when hovering over an experience level would allow display of the exact in-game meaning of that level: how strong is a veteran unit when compared to a rookie?

The "experience inheritance" has been discussed before and it is in my opinion a valid subject for debate. Your suggestion is fresh and I'd say very feasible. I really like the "star" concept. It's clean and relatively easy to implement, I believe.

Developers, take this into serious consideration!

maybe the 'star' could be a per-factory-setting? So you could disable some factories from producing experienced units - say you have factories in your main base you only want to use for engineer and repair unit production, and would like your experienced units to be built at the factories closest to your 'front line'.

This game is awesome! great work to all those involved.

my wish list. (sorry if these have been mentioned)
-should remember last IP in multiplayer.
-designing tanks in multiplayer is a pain. there should either be more preset vehicles or a quicker way..
-takes ages to load the game even on a modern pc (windows vista).

My wish list:
* added bonus of multiplayer weapons in singleP campaign after you beat it in hard mode.
* new laser weapons:beam weapons.... that emit a beam not just projectile like laser pulse.
*energy sheilds that work against energy weapons only.
*new researches... like adding small weapons to buildings.
*mod utils for moding sng pl camp. to anyway i like.
*new campaigns... maybe never ending one with randome events or the campaign in europe.
*dog fights in the air- would be nice to see 2 vtols go at it for some time.
*first person controll of a unit or defence tower... just to target and shoot, would rule!
*difrent styles of base structures, like HQs just everything else.
*alter lanscape, maybe some digger unit to make trenches to stop tanks since you can do this in debug mode.
*AI scripted generals to go and search for enemy then attack or defend base area that controll many units.usefull to find survivors.(like in earth 2140)
*option to create wall towers with the weapons YOU want, just like puting tanks together.
*to delete any sctructure creation option i have no need of.

i think.....
1. tanks have extremely strong armor on front but weak on side and rear.....sooo side hit should be make better damage.....
2. for example.....bunker bluster use demolish shells....demolish shelles make less damage against armor....now demages are the same agains buildin and unit ...
3. chaingun use low caliber gun and cannot penetrate tanks armour even use special shells........soo chaingun may be good agains cyborgs but not heavy tanks.....
4. mines ......and antyminer.....
5. terrain damages diverse....for example.....tanks in city are very weak because can be destroy easli by the marine......
6. selfprepered artillery.....its standard in modern armies
7. better audio and graphics
8.open terrain without hill and sea.....

4. mines ......and antyminer.....
there is a mod
5. terrain damages diverse....for example.....tanks in city are very weak because can be destroy easli by the marine......
explain further.
6. selfprepered artillery.....its standard in modern armies

yup. it would also be kwel for the finished work of mappers and modders to be centrally located on a page
with a little description & thumbnail of each. scattered in threads is just not the best way for fans to find or
a kwel way of presenting hard work, imho.

First of all thanks for all your efforts, this game is running really well on my system.

Just three suggestions (from the harder to the easier):
1) Add more (optional) graphical effects for video cards with pixel shaders: effects from explosion to bumpmapping of the terrain. Add some kind of light effects like global illumination on explosions.
2) Add a multiplayer lobby chat/server (also using irc fallback or similar) to find people and start matches. Other free software games do something similar, if I remember correctly frozen bubble does something similar, so you could see some code.
3) Add a control option to bind the right mouse button to actions, exactly as Blizzard's Starcraft/Warcraft do.
