Naval Bodies (new set)

inspired by some of the huge naval bodies ive seen floating about recently and in realiseation that my dream for effective warzone naval warefare is a passion shared by many
if have dug up these pies i made about half a year ago with the help of delphino (for testing them in-game)
bieng useless at texturing, they are blank, and to give them depth i have included the framework views of both.
i will leave you in awe to admire my MSpaint skills in naming the modles in the screens :P
these pies do actualy work in game, i just dont know how to get them there. (yet)
with my new college cource i get 2 days off a week to endulge in my love for warzone and hope to become a regular again.

UPDATE: modles available for downlaod
fish dolphin whale
i intend to learn to texture and such. but for now i will leave you with the screens.

interesting design (especially whale :)), though the regular bodies should fit in, here's a ship for heavy bodies viewtopic.php?f=6&t=1960
(btw i don't want to stonewall you, you're ideas are inspiring, wz is big enough for us all ;) )

could you also up the pie files please? :ninja:

ah! i see, what youve done is actualy made a propultion. i think we could combine.
where the other propultions changed baced on the size of thier bodys, we could do soemthing similar, yours looks realy nice on the smaller bodies, i think the whale would look quite cool on either the medium or heavy ones..
have to have a chat wit you about all this at some stage,
i'll get those pie's up for you.
i'll edit the intitial post when there up

ups i misread, bodies != propulsion :stressed:

yeah, i'm regularly on in the irc chat
i like the idea of custom bodies for naval units, perhaps this could also be introduced for vtols
but i fear ending in a mess of bodies, so i would suggest each original body has it's derivates (vengeance tank -> tanks, vengeance vtol -> vtol, vengeance ship -> ship) which is optimised for flying in the air / travelling on water

what do you think of this idea? this would result in (of course) new pie's + some code & stat changes

could be interesting.it would mean yes, many more pies. but some of the bodies may begin to look like they can fly instead of un-aerodynamic briks they soemtimes are :P

we could either have: the new set of bodys straped to hovers...
or we could modify them to become a naval propultion... of corse fish and dolphin wernt desighned as such, but whale could go the distance.
also: pies up for DL (see first post)

the only one truly un-aerodynamic is is the collective medium body.
it reminds me of an amphibious APC.

To be perfectly honest, is there really a point to navy units when you have hover?

A game like Warzone would not benefit well with units that can just go in the water. This isn't Supreme Commander.

I could make the same argument about why one would want tracks — hover can go on land as well.

Regards, Freddie.

Yeah, well, didn't SupCom have that one red-and-black cyborg-themed faction with their amphibious tanks? They still had sea units in addition to them. Nothing wrong with specialization. Hovers have downright terrible defense and body points. Flamers do nearly twice as much damage to hovers than to tracks.

Just wait until you see the nuclear submarines, then you'll understand. :ninja:
