You will have new textures and weapons/explosions sounds, hope you like it.

It's a global mod, works in campaign and multiplayer mode.

sounds interesting! I'll try it out, I've been thinking about attempting something like that for a while, since the explosions in Warzone 2100 are pretty ugly, but it looked to be too hard for me to do.

Loveing the textures! espeically on the project light body! looks much better and the research facility looks great too also likeing the new sounds Good work! i should learn to mod xD doubt i would be any goood though

ok, I know you stated this was for Beta 4, I tried it in trunk and jumped out of my chair when my ripple rocket artillery fired for the first time. Awesome sounds, especially the VTOL's sounded pretty realistic (too bad the engine does not have any 'real' doppler effects on the sounds though, would be so cool to hear the pitch of the engines lower when the planes fly away from you and such), but I did not see any difference at all in the explosions. Could be because I used trunk, but the sounds worked and I think it changed yellow/orange player's textures so that they looked a bit weird.
I'll install beta 4 and try it there, but the sounds where incredibly cool. The echoes of the cannons and all that was just great.

Edit: Oh, I think I actually misunderstood the name of the mod, it isn't actually even supposed to change the way the explosions look, is it?

yes i think so, gameplay itself isn't affected
