i picked some nice fonts for a new "WARZONE 2100" logo

i'm for transrobotics, but it's not like the original one

what do you think? other font proposals are welcome. i will create a poll later

i would have to say the Bebas font, it has that feel of practicality and precision that i think would suit warzone, all the other ones are flashy with weird shapes and don't really fit IMO

I vote for sui-generic. But why not to replace whole logo & not only the text ?

& if to change only text why not to bring back original logo ? (even today I dont know why it was removed from wrp ).

I agree with Terminator, why would we want to replace the original wz logo? It's nice, I don't find anything wrong with it.

But, if I had to choose one of those fonts, I'd pick sui-generis or regata.

What about the Wintermute font? I've always liked it...

I'm all for keeping the original WZ logo, maybe tweaking the font and increasing the size of the textures or so on... but keep the classic. Considering most of us here have been familiar with WZ for several years, we *should* keep the look and feel of the original, while continuing to imporve the game

(a) Where is that "original" logo from? I thought we have all files which were originaly released...

last time I remember original logo was in wz 2.0_0.2.2 beta http://download.gna.org/warzone/releases/0.2/ but there low-res logo (pure quality).
This one that I posted is cutted-out from wz comics which on official CDs.

@NucNut: Wintermute does _not_ really match warzone look'n'feel xD

i could also trace the original logo, so it looks like the original. but i'm not satisfied with that font.

There are lots of programs around for font creation, maybe we could just create a new one which is the same of the original logo. Or maybe just putting "warzone 2100" letters and digit on it would be enough.

I used "Font Creator" for a font conversion as some Italian letter didn't work, and I found it quite simple and with a short learning-curve.

I support this idea.

Some of the fonts (Regata, Sui Generis, SF Transrobotics) remind me too much of Star Trek. Not that I did not like Star Trek, but I find Star Trek somehow is quite sterile while Warzone is more like chaos and devastation and...

i think it's best to have a steril font. look at the warzone logo
we can still add chaos and devastation.
